Sip, Relax, & Celebrate the Season at Ziegler Winery! 🍷

Ziegler Winery in Malone, is one of those places that just feels different the second you pull in, and maybe I’m biased, but when you’ve helped plant a lot of the vines, it hits on a whole other level. My dad, Shy Ziegler, wife Jenny Ziegler, and my two uncles bought the property back in 2015 with a dream of building a real vineyard on the east shore of Lake Winnebago, right in the Wisconsin Ledge AVA. Today that dream is over 7,000 vines across 12 acres, all hand-planted by family and friends, growing the Northern-hardy hybrids tough enough to survive our Wisconsin winters.

By fall 2018, Ziegler Winery had its first true milestone: over 6,000 gallons! That’s roughly 31,000 bottles produced on site, all small-batch, all hand crafted from start to finish. And you can feel that same level of care in the tasting room. It’s one of the largest in the state, built with reclaimed barn boards, silo blocks, and a redwood tasting bar salvaged from old pickle barrels. Between the fireplaces, mezzanines, enclosed patio, outdoor stage, and wide open seating areas, it has that warm Wisconsin charm that makes you want to slow down and enjoy the moment.

They’ve always been big on supporting local too, with craft beer from Plymouth Brewing, 3 Sheeps, Fox River Brewing, and Yard 65, plus food made with meats and cheeses from Eden Meat Market, Henning’s, Vern’s, and LaClare Farms. It’s the perfect setup for a night out, a weekend stop, or just a place to take a breath and enjoy something crafted right here in our backyard.

And December is stacked with great events. On December 5th (5–8 PM), The Abler Boys bring their father/son acoustic show filled with classics and original songs. Then on December 6th (3–6 PM), Fred Ferguson takes over with a special Christmas show, mixing oldies, country, rock, and holiday favorites to get everyone in the spirit. Great wine, great music, great people, exactly what Ziegler Winery is all about.
